At last week’s Pennsylvania Truck Driving Championships, our very own Troy Wolf placed first in the 5 axle flatbed division, and was also named Grand Champion, the highest honor awarded! With his win in Pennsylvania, Troy qualified to compete at the National Truck Driving Championships next month in Indianapolis, IN.

The PA Truck Driving Championships are held annually and focus on driver knowledge and skill. The competition includes a written test, pre-trip inspection, and driving skills challenge. There are nine different vehicle classes with about 150 participants each year. Drivers must have the appropriate CDL endorsements for the class they enter, and they must also be accident-free.

Also representing Day & Ross at the competition were Chevella White, Patrick Johnston, and Robert Turybury. Both Chevella and Robert were first-time competitors and drove in the 5 axle van class, while Patrick competed in the 5 axle sleeper class.

“All of our drivers represented Day & Ross very well throughout the event. They not only showcased their knowledge and outstanding skills, but were also supportive of one another,” said National Compliance Manager, Dana Bollinger.

In addition to competing at the event, Day & Ross also supplied a tractor and trailer. Though our drivers were not allowed to compete using our own equipment, drivers for other companies got to inspect and drive our new Mack truck throughout the competition.

Thank you to Dana Bollinger for leading our team, helping drivers prepare, and coordinating our participation and volunteering in the event. Katelyn Castiglia was also a volunteer at the event, assisting with driver registration and the pre-trip inspection portion of the competition. Driver Manager, Jeramey Willhite also attended the competition to support our driving team and their families.

Congratulations to our PA team on a successful event, and best of luck to Troy at nationals!
