Last year, one of the last original ‘Big Orange’ Day & Ross trucks rolled into retirement, marking the end of a chapter that many long-time employees and drivers will remember.

For decades the orange trucks were a familiar sight on highways, at terminals and in communities across our network. While the Day & Ross fleet has evolved over the years, a small number of those iconic orange trucks continued operating long after the company's branding evolved.

One of those trucks belonged to a broker who spent 32 years with Day & Ross. Remarkably, the truck itself remained in service for 22 years before being retired last year.

Behind the wheel was Roger Morin, a Montreal Pickup & Delivery driver who started with Day & Ross in 1998 and retired in November 2025. As a proud 2 Million Miler, Roger’s career mirrored the legacy of the original orange Day & Ross trucks – built on decades of safe, reliable service. As one of the last drivers operating one of these trucks, he helped carry a piece of company history through its final years on the road.

More than just a vehicle, the truck represented decades of dedication, partnership, and pride. It connected Day & Ross' history with its present, serving as a reminder of the people who have helped build the company over the past 76 years.

While one orange truck may have completed its final trip, only a handful of our original orange trucks remain on the road. As this chapter of our history draws to a close, the legacy they represent lives on through the employees, drivers, owner operators, brokers, and partners who keep Day & Ross moving every day.
